Appraisal - 26+ years
Expert insurance appraisals.
With over 26 years of experience, you can trust that your collection is in good hands and properly protected against the threat of loss. We provide clear, documented appraisals appropriate to your purpose - insurance, estate, donation, or damage.
Why it matters
The right paperwork, before you need it.
Fine handmade rugs are easy to under-insure and hard to replace. A proper appraisal documents what you own - type, origin, age, materials, condition, and value - so a policy actually covers it, an estate is settled fairly, or a claim is honored without argument.
Because we buy and sell these rugs every day, our valuations reflect the real market, not a guess from a price list.

Questions
Good to know
How much is my rug worth?
That requires an in-person look at weave, wool, dyes, and condition. Send photos for a quick read, and we will advise whether a formal appraisal is worthwhile.
Is an appraisal local only?
Yes. Credible rug appraisal requires hands-on examination, so we appraise locally in Marin, San Francisco, and the nearby Bay Area.
How long does an appraisal take?
Most single-piece appraisals are quick once we examine the rug; larger collections take longer. We confirm timing and fees up front.
