ES1951 Bidjar Small Rug.
Age: 1900-1910
These are my absolute favorite rugs to buy, sell and own! The epitome of an heirloom rug. This piece is in “Time Capsule” or mint condition with the original edges, end finishes and full, uniform pile throughout. Glowing natural colors and an extremely fine weave, like a stained glass window done in wool. Plus the rarer, smaller format. Made in a village, NW Persia around 1900-1910. 3-8″ x 5-3″/ $sold
Antique Persian Small Runner
CA0914 Mohajeran Sarouk small runner. If you have been waiting, holding out for just the right “Baby Mohajeran”, this is the piece not to be missed. Wonderfully preserved condition, an open drawing, glistening wool but what may not be noticeable from the images and part of what makes this example so special is, it has a knot count much higher than average/ 16V x 13H= 208+/- KPSI (knots per square inch) the average piece has about 120KPSI ; Circa 1910 ;

SN0608 Bidjar Small Rug. These are my absolute favorite rugs to buy, sell and own! The epitome of an heirloom rug. This piece is in excellent condition with the original edges and most of the original end finishes fully intact, uniform pile throughout, with just very minor signs of use. Glowing natural colors and an iconic Bidjar design almost always seen in the 4′ x 6′ size, this is the rarer, smaller format. Made in a village, NW Persia around 1910-1915. 3-8″ x 5-3″/ $sold.

Charming graphics with unusual proportions. Note the extra large guard border with a repeating, ‘Dragons Head’ design and this is done on an abrashed, camel hair back ground. Made in a village, NW Persia around 1900-1910. 4-4″ x 6-1″/ $Sold

Nice fine weave, classic shield medallions done on a richly abrashed, camel back ground. The type of piece that only shows up every three to five years. Pure art for the floor. Age: 1880 -1890
This one is closer to a mat in size and has a hypnotic, boteh field design done on a rich indigo ground. This is framed by a flamboyantly large main border containing organic, large scale ‘turtle palmette’ motifs. One of one that we have ever seen quite like this. Age: 1880-1900
This antique Turkoman has the springiest wool, freshly washed and just in from the field. Who knows where this piece grew old but someone was a proper steward for it’s care. I conic design boiled down into a very rare format with the original end finishes intact. Circa 1900/ 3-2″ x 4-5″/ $Sold
Antique Serapi Runner
GR1017 Serapi runner. This is the type of piece, as a dealer, you only come across once in a career. Real Serapi runners are rare in any format or design and many of the surviving examples are conditionally challenged. This example is both highly unusual and in remarkable condition for the age. Original edges and ends are intact and the piece is free of any restoration. Stunning ivory background and older than most, the design speaks for it’s self. “Animal Garden Rug”
JS0911 Bakhtiari . This amazing weaving is fresh from the field and has clearly hung on a wall for most of it’s life as it is in absolute “time capsule condition”. There are metal loops sewn on the back side and the piece has an original tag fro the famed Austrian dealer Bausbak . The piece is free of any restoration. Antique Heriz Medallion Carpet
SB0118 Heriz Medallion small carpet.
Age: 1890-1900
A unique antique Persian Heriz rug with a lively design and the most amazing colors. Natural dyes with this subtlety and clarity are only found on the genuinely old Heriz rugs from the 1880s though 1910s.
The overall impression is light and natural, with a definite twinkle. Sparkling greens, ice blue, Persian blue, apricot, lustrous browns, mocha, white, and pink, provide the perfect contrast on the cinnamon background. An exceptional indigo border contains the festivities. Great handspun mountain wool and a supple handle like only the early rugs have. This Heriz is in good antique condition with nice soft pile over most of the rug. There are also low areas with wear in the corners. Freshly washed and looking great. Warm and inviting Malayir small rug from NW Persia. Full pile condition top to bottom with just minor oxidation to the dark browns. Original edges and end guard borders are intact. A rich fall palette, having an all over/ repeating ‘Herati” design with complementary ivory ground spandrells. All natural dyes including some very nice purples and a brilliant, medium blue background on the main border
